Program Overview:

The goal of the Go Gorilla Fitness Program is to teach participants how to integrate healthy fitness habits into their daily lifestyle. The program has two core components. The first component is a Dance Fitness Class that uses dance to teach participants aerobic and anaerobic exercise. The second component is a Healthy Eating Class that emphasizes proper nutrition, how to identify healthy foods and prepare healthy meals.

Go Gorilla Fitness is a flexible program that can range from a 1 hour fitness orientation to a six week program.   Go Gorilla can be scaled to fit your program needs.

 

Dance Fitness Course:

The Dance Fitness Course teaches basic cardio vascular health with aerobic dance routine workouts. This fitness class also utilizes anaerobic workouts to teach the importance of exercise and stretching before physical activity. This class is designed for children and youth ages 5-25 and complies with National Health Education Standards.

Healthy Eating Course:

The Healthy Eating Class is an orientation to proper nutrition. This class helps participants learn the basic skills needed to identify healthy food choices and how to prepare healthy meals.

 

Abilities:  By the end of the course students will be able to:

  • Explain and demonstrate basic dance movements, fitness terms and how to integrate healthy fitness habits into their daily lifestyle.
  • Improve nutritional knowledge and ability to identify and make nutritional snacks and balanced meals

Dance Fitness Course:

The Dance Fitness Course is a fitness class that teaches basic cardio vascular health, the importance of exercise and stretching before physical activity. This class is for children and youth ages 5-25 and complies with National Health Education Standards. This program helps participants learn aerobic fitness by performing basic dance routines and anaerobic fitness by stretching.

 

Part One: 

  • Dance exhibition performance by dance instructors
  • Cardio Fitness 101 presentation
  • Warm up, stretching and dance instruction
  • Line Dance games, cool down and stretching

 

Part Two: 

  • Healthy and Fitness 101 presentation
  • Warm up, stretching and dance instruction
  • Line Dance games, cool down and stretching

Course Conclusion:

  • Post Test
  • Participants Raffle
  • Clean up

HEALTHY DIETS = HEALTHY LIFESTYLES

Healthy Eating Course:

The Healthy Eating Class is an orientation to proper nutrition   This 1 hour class helps participants learn the basic skills needed to identify healthy food choices and how to prepare healthy meals.

 

Part One: 

  • Healthy Eating 101 Presentation

 

Part Two: 

  • Chef demonstrates how to prepare and cook healthy food
  • Participants taste healthy food samples

 

Session Conclusion:

  • Post Test
  • Raffle for Participants
  • Clean up
